U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) to Conduct Town Hall Meeting at DeSales, Mon., 9/22/08
United States Senator Arlen Specter (R - Pa.), Pennsylvania's longest serving U.S. Senator, will conduct a Town Hall Meeting from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, in the Commonwealth Room of the DeSales University Center. During the session, Specter will provide an insider's look at recent developments in Washington, D.C. Following his presentation, he will participate in a Q & A with audience members. The event is open to the public free of charge.
[PLEASE NOTE: Sen. Specter will speak briefly to members of the media at 3 p.m., following the Town Hall session.]
Upon arrival at the DeSales campus, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Specter will meet in a closed session with DeSales President Fr. Bernard O'Connor, OSFS.
Specter, who resides in Philadelphia, was elected to the United States Senate in 1980, and is currently serving his fifth term. He is Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and a senior member of the Appropriations and Veterans Affairs committees.
