Ghouls, Ghosts, and Murderers of the Lehigh Valley, Focus of Halloween Brown Bag Lunch Program, Friday, October 31
Ghouls, Ghosts, and Murderers: The Dark Side of the Lehigh Valley will be the focus of a Halloween Brown Bag Lunch program at noon, Friday, October 31, in Trexler Library at DeSales University. The featured speaker is Dr. Katherine Ramsland, associate professor and chairperson of DeSales University's Department of Social Sciences, and a noted expert on forensics and serial killers. The event is open to the public free of charge.Following the presentation by Ramsland, there will be an audience Q & A. Ramsland has written two books on the topic, "Bethlehem Ghosts" and "Murder in the Lehigh Valley," which will be available at the presentation.
Ramsland, a highly regarded forensics expert, joined the DeSales faculty in 2001. She earned her bachelor's degree in philosophy and psychology from Northern Arizona University, master's degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, master's degree in clinical psychology from Duquesne University, and a doctorate in philosophy from Rutgers. A prolific writer, she has published 34 books, 16 short stories, 2 novels, and more than 800 articles. Ramsland has provided commentary on forensics and serial killers to national, regional and local media. She has appeared on The Today Show, CBS 48 Hours Investigates, Fox 5 News, A&E Documentaries, Larry King Live, and the Learning Channel, among others.
Trexler Library's Brown Bag Lunch Series was established in September 1999. The purpose of the series is to provide faculty, staff, and students an opportunity to share their research projects, personal interests, and hobbies with the whole DeSales University community. Each program includes a presentation, followed by a question and answer session.
