Dr. Campos Fuentes was raised and educated in Mexico City, where she finished her undergraduate studies in communication and journalism at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City; in that city she was a journalist for the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. After that she lived, worked, and studied in two other countries: she has a master's diploma from the Institut Fran?ais de Presse at the University of Panthéon-Assas in Paris, France; in Mexico and in Paris, she was also the manager of the contemporary art gallery Espace d'Art Yvonamor Palix. In the United States, she finished an M.A. in Spanish language, cultures, and literatures from the University of Tennessee. For her Ph.D. dissertation she worked in a comparative perspective: the erotic poetry of Octavio Paz and Rosario Castellanos, two major Mexican writers. She received her Ph.D. with Summa cum laude. She was a graduate teaching assistant in the Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures department at the University of Tennessee, where she was in charge of the teaching of different aspects of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. She has also taught at Rider University in New Jersey.
She has published at prestigious journals: Hispanófila and Chasqui. She also has a forthcoming scholarly article to be published at the peer-reviewed journal Céfiro.
