Roman Catholicism

In 1965, the Second Vatican Council, in its "Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World." emphasized the fundamental link between contemporary culture and the life/work of the Roman Catholic Church (cf. Gaudium et Spes, #53-62). 

Later, in 1975, Pope Paul VI, spoke of the necessity of maintining this link, due to "the rupture between the Gospel and culture" which he claimed was "without doubt the drama of our time" [Evangelii nuntiandi, no. 20].  

Today, the Salesian Center at DeSales University seeks to fulfill this Christian task of evangelization by restoring and and maintaining the link between faith and culture.  For more information on these realms of evangelization, visit these pages:
