J. Bennett Durham is coordinator of choral activities & liturgical music at DeSales University, where he conducts the university's three choral ensembles and teaches applied voice.
A graduate of Westminster Choir College, Mr. Durham studied conducting with Joe Miller, James Jordan and Andrew Megill, and participated in master classes with Earl Rivers and Vance George. His recent work has included delivering a set of guest lectures on Brahms' Requiem and directing the music for Act 1's presentation of A Christmas Carol at DeSales in December 2010.
Mr. Durham is a magna cum laude graduate of Centre College, where he received a B.A. in music and religion. He earned a M.M. in choral conducting, with distinction, from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. He is a member of the American Choral Director's Association, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, Chorus America, and the College Music Society. |
