The study circle is part of an international movement of folks interested in discussing current theological and cultural ideas, particularly as these are espoused in the journal entitled Communio: International Catholic Review.
The Center Valley group, organized by Drs. Chapp, Howsare, and Loughlin, consists of faculty, students and alumni of the department, along with a variety of friends of the department who are interested in the topics of discussion. The circle gathers 4-6 times each semester, usually at a faculty member's house. Typically, the 20-25 members will read and discuss an article of current interest that has been sent by email ahead of time; other formats include attending a concert or watching a movie, followed by discussion.
For more information, or to join the circle, contact Dr. Loughlin. |
