(September 11, 2009) – DeSales University Senior TV/Film majors Brandon Pousley, of Perkasie, Pa., and Steven Whitcombe, of Douglassville, Pa., have been nominated for regional Emmy® Awards from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The students were nominated for work in Children / Youth Teen Program or Special Category.
Brandon and Steven served as editors from two programs created by classEmedia, an educational media partnership specializing in the creation of meaningful programs, production of original music, animation, and curriculum content for the classroom and a better world.The programs are Cosmo's World, produced for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to teach biodiversity to 4th graders, and Take One Step, produced for the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, to deter students from dropping out of high school.
The Mid Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences annually recognizes outstanding achievements in television and related fields by presenting Emmy® Awards in the Chapter's designated region. The presentation of the awards is intended to serve as an incentive for the ongoing pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industry and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment and news achievements in television. All Emmy® entries are judged outside the region by panels of peer professionals working in comparable television markets across the country.
The 27 Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards ceremony will be take place September 26, 2009 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia, Pa.
