(September 29, 2009) – DeSales University Senior TV/Film major Brandon Pousley, of Perkasie, PA, has received a regional Emmy® Award from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Brandon received the Emmy® for his work as editor for Cosmo's World, a program produced for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to teach biodiversity to 4th graders. The program was created by classEmedia, an educational media partnership specializing in the creation of meaningful programs, production of original music, animation, and curriculum content for the classroom and a better world.
The 27 Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards ceremony was held September 26, 2009 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.
Pousley was one of two DeSales TV/Film majors to receive regional Emmy® nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. DeSales University Senior Steven Whitcombe, of Douglassville, Pa., was nominated in the same category as Pousley, the Children/Youth Teen Program or Special Category.
The Mid Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences annually recognizes outstanding achievements in television and related fields by presenting Emmy® Awards in the Chapter's designated region. The presentation of the awards is intended to serve as an incentive for the ongoing pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industry and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment and news achievements in television. All Emmy® entries are judged outside the region by panels of peer professionals working in comparable television markets across the country.
